The violence of inequality

Onzichtbaar geweld
Violence isn't always a physical act. It can also be embedded in society. Geographer Prof Mustafa Dikeç explains how inequality can be violent as well.

Not all violence is physical. According to geographer Prof Mustafa Dikeç (École d’Urbanisme de Paris) it can also be embedded in the way our society is organised. People from marginalized groups, for example, are more likely to be affected by economic crises than others. Dikeç talks about the importance of recognising discrimination and inequality as violence.
