Superhero films display tricks and powers that push the boundaries of what is scientifically possible. Physicist Dr Barry Fitzgerald (TU Delft) studies how realistic these blockbusters are. Guess what? We might be closer to actually having superpowers than ever before. Iron Man’s suit, Wolverine’s accelerated healing powers and Spider-Man’s web slingers: current research shows that they may be part of our (near) future. What are the implications of the advancement and integration of superpowers for modern society?
