Het onderzoek van White richt zich op democratie, burgerschap en eigendomsrechten, waarbij hij probeert een antwoord te geven op de vraag: Welke rechten op hulpbronnen zouden we als leden van een democratische gemeenschap moeten hebben? Een rode draad in zijn werk is het onderzoeken van ideeën voor een samenleving die zowel het kapitalisme als autoritaire vormen van socialisme afwijst. Hij onderzoekt dit thema in studies op het gebied van politieke filosofie, openbaar beleid en de geschiedenis van het politieke denken. White's research focuses on democracy, citizenship and property rights, in which he tries to answer the question of what rights to resources we should have as members of a democratic community. A consistent thread in his work is examining ideas for a society that rejects both capitalism and authoritarian forms of socialism. He investigates this theme in studies across political philosophy, public policy and the history of political thought. His most recent publication is "What is wrong with inequality?" (2024).
