Heasman heeft al meer dan 25 jaar ervaring op het gebied van voeding en beleid als sociaalwetenschappelijk onderzoeker, docent, schrijver, en consultant in de Europese Unie, V.S., Canada, Japan, Australië, en China voor bedrijven, NGO's en overheidsorganisaties. Hij heeft meer dan 90 publicaties op zijn naam staan en was tevens co-auteur van drie boeken.

Voor zijn PhD bij de onderzoeksgroep Voeding en Beleid van Bradford Universiteit onderzocht hij de impact van overheidsbeleid op suikerconsumptie.

Michael Heasman is Associate Professor in Food and Nutrition Sociology, in the Meal Science and Public Health Nutrition (MENU) Research Group of Aalborg University.

Dr. Michael Heasman has worked in the area of food and nutrition policy for more than 25 years as a social science researcher, teacher, writer, and consultant in the European Union, U.S., Canada, Japan, Australia, and China for business, public, and civil society organizations. Michael has written more than 90 publications, reports, or invited presentations, including co-authoring three books.

He completed his PhD at the University of Bradford's Food Policy Research Unit investigating the impact of government nutrition policy on sugar consumption - pioneering research on the response of food business to diet and health concerns.
