Erdogan's Turkey

22 oktober 2018 - 20:00

Since his most recent election victory, the Turkish president Erdogan has become more powerful than ever. His opponents now fear for a one man rule. How resilient is the Turkish democracy? What makes Erdogan so popular among voters? And what does his new position as near-absolute ruler mean for Turkey's relation with the West? Journalist Eelco Bosch van Rosenthal will interview legal scholar Prof Başak Çalı (Hertie School of Governance, Berlin) on the national and international effects of Erdogan's rule.
